A true story: Upon finishing this dynamic set I went out to hit the local surf. There were some dolphins in the distance and I prayed, “Lord, I’ve surfed for 9 years but have never surfed a wave with dolphins. It would really let me know that You love me if You would answer my prayer now and let me surf with dolphins. In fact, it would be truly miraculous if I touched one.”
Within 2 minutes an adult dolphin came over and swam underneath me as a large set wave rolled my direction. The dolphin waiting for me was 15 feet to my right as I turned to paddle into the wave. As the wave continued to build the dolphin disappeared until I began dropping into the wave. I could see the dolphin immediately below me and I feared crashing and landing on it. In fact, if I didn’t make the wave I would have crashed right into it! I was committed.
As I charged down the wave I could feel myself riding on the back of the dolphin with my board. As the dolphin undulated with my board’s tail I had to grip my board and stick my hand in the wave for balance. The first miracle was happening! I was able to touch this dolphin by riding it’s back.
As a baby dolphin shot off to the side of me I made two large turns on the wave and the dolphins had disappeared. I rode the wave for another 50 yards searching around me for my companions. As I gained speed, three adult dolphins leaped out in front of me 10 feet away. I could see the closest dolphin eyeing me as it flew 5 feet in the air across my path. I threw up my hands as high as I could and thanked the Lord for the experience He had given me. I could hear crowds on the beach screaming at the top of their lungs in jubilation.
The Lord had given me an experience that copied the artwork of the two dolphins on the wave with 3 hidden dolphins leaping out of the water. The art came first, the prayer second, the miracle third. It was a blessed day.
